This seminar will present the main findings of a selected series of rigorous impact evaluations on skills interventions, discuss the implications for active labour market policies, and reflect on how to best use and produce rigorous evidence in policy practice.

The RéUsSITE team presented the results of its impacts evaluation at the conference of the Centre for the Study of African Economies in Oxford.

Aus Studien weiß man, dass die Effektivität von Ausbildungsprogrammen in Entwicklungsländern stark variiert, und viele Programme kaum Wirkungen zeigen. Angesichts von möglichen Budgetkürzungen in der deutschen EZ sollten Mittel da eingesetzt werden, wo sie die größten Effekte entfalten.

Entwicklungspolitik neu denken: Ein Rückbau wäre fatal – Entwicklungspolitik dient deutschen Interessen und sichert globale Güter. Doch „Weiter so“ reicht nicht: Koordination & echte Partnerschaften mit dem Globalen Süden sind nötig. Europa muss ein effektiveres, multilaterales Angebot schaffen.

Kann Consulting für Kleinunternehmen in Entwicklungsländern Produktivität fördern und Beschäftigung verbessern? Unsere rigorose Wirkungsmessung in Côte d'Ivoire zeigt, dass ein Consulting-Programm zwar kaum Effekte auf Management und Unternehmenserfolg hatte, aber die Beschäftigungsqualität erhöhte.
