GIGA Training
17/06/2025 - 18/06/2025
Scientific careers are judged on the ability to write high-quality academic manuscripts. This workshop will focus on paper and abstract writing, addressing the writing process, style, and the challenge to express complex ideas in a clear, precise and readable text, without sacrificing scientific accuracy. The workshop contents will be structured as follows:
Day 1: How to write a good paper
Writing as a process: from idea to text
Writing precise and readable texts
Storytelling and flow
Day 2: Spotlight on abstract writing
Crafting a good abstract
Participants are asked to bring a text (preferably an abstract) to the workshop, which they will improve themselves during the workshop. Before the follow up sessions in small groups, the text is read and commented on by two other participants and the trainer and will be discussed in these feedback rounds.
Dates & Times:
The course will take place online on two half days, 17 and 18 June 2025, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.
