The GIGA seeks to hire two
Student Assistants (m/f/d)
to support the Land Matrix team (http://www.landmatrix.org) or a research project in Senegal affiliated with the Land Matrix for 10 hours per week for at least 6 months, remuneration: EUR 12.41 per hour. Currently, the majority of work can be performed remotely.
Tasks include:
Adding new and updating existing land deals in the database
Supporting primary data collection
Processing, cleaning and analysing data
Communication with partners in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America
Assisting with documentation, publications, presentations, trainings, and the organisation of events
Core requirements:
Master student of (agricultural) economics, geoinformatics, geomatics, geography, political science, or statistics
Proficient English language skills (written and oral)
(Advanced) knowledge of data processing and (descriptive) analysis
Working thoroughly and independently
Preferred (plus):
Advanced knowledge of statistical software (preferably Stata and/or R)
Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) and/or remote sensing
Proficient French language skills (written and oral)
