Tharcisio Leone submitted his dissertation titled “Striving for Educational Improvement: Essays on Intergenerational Mobility and Teacher Bonus Programs in the Education System” at Freie Universität Berlin. Congratulations!
Hager Ali published the GIGA focus "Egypt after the Arab Spring: A Legacy of No Advancement", which was added to the GIGA Focus thematic series "Military and Militarisation". She also authored the German Version of this Focus "Ägypten nach dem Arabischen Frühling: Vermächtnis ohne Aufbruch". With the new website launch, a recording of the GIGA Forum "A New Wave of Militarisation?” which Hager moderated went online. In January, Hager gave an interview with Deutsche Welle on Qatar-Egypt relations and the Muslim Brotherhood. She also gave a live-interview on Libya's peace process and upcoming elections on the radio-station Deutschlandfunk Nova.
Ana Soares wrote a review on the book “Security as Politics: Beyond the State of Exception” by Andrew W. Neal. The book review is published on the Security Dialogue blog.
