"Hamburg Summit: China meets Europe" is the most important Chinese–European economic conference. It is a platform for an open dialogue between Europe and China aiming to improve the economic relations and the understanding of each other. Since its implementation in 2004, the “Hamburg Summit“ has served as a prominent platform to discuss the main trends and questions regarding Sino-European business relations among politics, business, academic and administrative circles.
The GIGA is academic partner of the summit. At the 2018 Hamburg Summit, GIGA Associate Dr. Margot Schüller moderated the panel "China's changing economic landscape - defining new drivers of growth."
